A committee will be meeting to work on how the Republic School District will meet requirements of last year's Senate Bill 5395 (the Sex Ed bill). If you are interested in being on the committee please email kyoung@republicsd.org or kclark@republicsd.org. We will be able to meet mandated requirements and follow community standards and expectations. Once the committee has a recommendation there will be opportunities for community members to review the curriculum before it goes to the school board sometime this summer. Lastly, of course students/parents have the option to opt out of any sexual education as they always have.

Yesterday afternoon, our elementary school was notified of two positive cases (from the same household). Close contacts were identified and contacted very quickly. A letter will also be going to students in the grade levels that were impacted (but if your student was a close contact personal notification already happened). We will continue to follow the guidelines from NETCH. Please keep students at home if they show any signs of being ill.
