PRINCIPAL'S WELCOME
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome back to Republic School District for the 2023-2024 school year. We hope this letter finds you refreshed and eager for the new academic year ahead. As we kick off another exciting year of learning and growth, we are thrilled to share some updates and changes that will make this year truly special.
We want to extend a warm welcome to our returning families, as well as a heartfelt greeting to those joining our school community for the first time. Together, we will create an environment that fosters a love for learning, encourages creativity, and instills a strong sense of community. After all, we ARE REPUBLIC!!
We are looking forward to a great year filled with boundless opportunities for our students to explore, discover, and excel. Our dedicated team of educators has worked tirelessly to continue to offer great programs like ROAR, our after-school Academic Opportunities, and of course our extra-curricular programs. We have also worked on ways to bring in some new programs and course offerings that will keep our students involved, vocal about their learning, and leading the way in our community.
Along with our Welding Certification course, we will be offering an EMT certification as well. Students were vocal about elective offerings such as Food and Family, and Psychology/Sociology, as well as clubs and programs that allow students to get involved. Programs like STACC and leadership opportunities. We want our students to have a voice! A real opportunity to impact their school community and culture! We are committed to supporting their academic, social, and emotional growth, empowering them to become confident, compassionate, and successful individuals.
This year, we will implement a JR High/High School Orientation day for parents and students. This will give us an opportunity to inform families of changes, answer some questions, and spend some time interacting with you at the beginning of the school year. We have a few changes in the handbook that I want to address. Orientation will give us that time.
Our handbook changes are designed to enhance the overall experience for our students and align with our commitment to fostering a culture of respect, responsibility, and inclusivity. We will hand out the handbook at the Orientation on the 24th of August.
Additionally, we are hoping to have our new junior high/High School library up and running this year. This vibrant new space will serve as a hub of knowledge, imagination, and exploration for our students.
In closing, we are honored to have your support and trust as we embark on this exciting new school year at Republic School District. Together, we will make this a memorable and transformative year for all our students. If you have any questions, suggestions, or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
Here is to a great year filled with growth, joy, and accomplishments!
Warm Regards,
Loren Finley
