
The students from Republic Elementary enjoyed an adventure to Stonerose Fossil site to learn about the geologic history of Ferry County through fossil digging. During the trip, they discovered many amazing fossils and also had the opportunity to learn about flint knapping arrowheads, arrow making, and atlatl throwing with the help of volunteers from the United States Forest Service Archeology Department. The ROAR program would like to thank Stuart Chilvers and his team for sharing their knowledge about ancient tool building, as well as to Andy Brockett and Travis Wellman from Stonerose for their assistance in making this day an exciting experience for the students of Republic Elementary.

RHS Track and Field is on to STATE! A huge congratulations to David Jackson who took first place in the 200 meters to become the Regional Champion . Jackson also took home a second place Regional medal in the 100 meters. Taden Hazenberg had an amazing race and placed first in the 400 meters to become the Regional Champion. Hazenberg was also the District Champion in the 400 meters as well. Blake Olsen placed 6th a Regionals to secure him a lane on the track at State. The Men's 4x400, placed 5th at Regionals also securing them a spot at State. The Men's relay team is made up of: Blake Olsen, Atticus Flesher, Orion Songhand and Taden Hazenberg. State Track and Field will be held on the 23rd and 24th in Yakima. Gooooooo TIgers!

Congratulations to Sophomore, Ember Berndt, who was named Softball 1st Team in the Northeast 1B All League! Ember is also a high honor roll student at RHS. If you see her out congratulate her on a job well done. Gooooo Tigers!

Mr. Avila's class traveled to the Little Pend Oreille Wildlife Refuge on Thursday for their final ROAR adventure of the year. The students experienced various ecosystems and habitats in the refuge while exploring the hiking trails around McDowell Lake. They also spotted a variety of songbirds and colorful wildflowers. The ROAR program would like to thank the volunteers who shared their expertise and passion for the outdoors with the students of Republic Elementary.





Congratulations, Trey Cromwell! Trey attended the National Archery in the Schools Program Western National Tournament in Salt Lake City in April. Over 2000 archers from across the West Coast, the Midwest, and Alaska competed in a multiday archery competition. Trey scored 282 out of a possible 300 points, placing him in the top 20 of all high school seniors.

Miss Starr's 2nd-grade class recently had their final ROAR adventure to Kait's Crates Orchard in Tonasket. During the trip, students learned about the life cycle of apple and pear trees, explored the inside of a warehouse, and were treated to a sneak peek of an unnamed apple variety. The ROAR program would like to thank Katy Thornton for sharing her passion for agriculture with the students of Republic Elementary.









Track and Field will travel to Ritzville today for the first round of Regionals. T & F will travel BACK to Ritzville again on Saturday for the finals. Admission is $10 for adults and $8 for students and senior citizens. Please be aware that there will be no spectators or parents allowed on the infield. Good Luck and GOOOOOO TIGERS!

Republic Lady Tigers will play in the Regional Softball game on Friday, May 17, at 4 pm, on field 4, at the Franklin Park Fields in Spokane. Win or lose, they will play again at 11 am on Saturday, the 18th, at 11 am on field 5.
