Special Attention to ALL staff, students and visitors! Tomorrow, 9/22, the front entrance to the Jr. High and Senior High will be closed off for your safety. The roofers will be working above the regular entrance and we need to have everyone take a small detour for the time being. Please use the Elem entrance or the Tiger Café entrance (doors closest to Walsh's room). Again, please do not attempt to enter the High School through the typical entrance. Thank you!

Breakfast After the Bell The State of Washington has changed the way we serve breakfast this year. We will be serving breakfast to K-6 grade students at 8:00 AM when they come in from the morning recess. Students will eat this breakfast in the classroom. 7-12 grade students will receive breakfast at 8:50, in their respective areas and will have a designated area to eat. Those parents that drop their students off to school will not have to drop them off early for breakfast at school. As long as they are here by 7:50, they will be on-time for school and will recieve breakfast when the official school day begins. If you have questions about this, please feel free to contact the school.

Republic School District Cell Phone Practice: While we concede that smart phones offer learning opportunities, we are one-to-one with Chromebooks in the 7-12 grades. Students will not need their smart phones with them during class time. We have purchased combination locks for lockers in the school and JR High and HS Students can rest assured that their phones will be perfectly safe, locked in their lockers. Cell phone use during class is largely away from academics and leads to distractions, and a possible drop in performance. This year all students will be expected to leave their phones locked in their lockers during class time. This will help eliminate opportunities for students to take their phones with them when they leave the classroom during class time. We fully understand that sometimes students are simply using phones during that time to covertly meet up with friends, ultimately leading to a distraction from learning. Students will be able to utilize their phones during a mid-morning breakfast at 8:50 and at their lunchtime. We ask that you speak to your student prior to the first day of school to support our efforts with this “Zero Distraction” learning policy. Students who fail to comply with the policy will face disciplinary consequences consistent with expectations found in our Student Handbook. Students in the elementary, grades K-6 are not allowed to have cellular devices out during the school day. Although they may have them in their backpack at school, they are expected to be turned off and in their bag.
