Attention 5th Grade Parents: Our next ROAR adventure is Wednesday, April 12th where we travel to Grand Coulee Dam. Due to the distance we will be away from school, please make sure to have your child properly dressed for inclement weather as we will be outside most of the day. Also, it may be a good idea to pack extra healthy snacks in addition to a school lunch that may be provided. It is important to inform parents this adventure will extend beyond the end of the regular school day. This will require you to make arrangements to pick up your child after school hours. Our return time will be approximately 3:15-3:30 on Wednesday, April 12th. Thank you for your help and if you have any questions, please contact Mr. McRae or Mr. Winters

On Wednesday, Miss King's 3rd grade ROAR adventure took students to Stonerose Interpretive Center. Stonerose experts guided the class on the proper technique of splitting rocks to better find fossils. After lunch, students then learned how to identify different fossils using their scientific observation skills. Finally to end the day, students were allowed to gather fossils they discovered at the dig site and were also given a special tour of the Republic Historical Society Museum. A big thank you goes out to Travis Wellman, Andy Brockett, Madelaine Perry, and Mary Rourke for making this adventure possible and their support for the students of Republic School District.

St. Patrick's Day last week brought much fun to Republic High School. The STACC club (Students Taking Action for Community Change) hosted a 3 on 3 basketball tournament on March 16th. The team called Sum of 4 won the "Best Dressed" category as being crowned tournament champions. Also last week, National Honor Society hid a leprechaun every day for the RHS students to find. The daily winners received a gift bag loaded with goodies. NHS also taped hand written shamrock notes to every students locker in the high school. Way to go STACC and NHS for being positive leaders in the school!
