Mr. Avila's 4th-grade class went on an adventure to Hall Creek this week to refresh their survival skills from last year and learn some new ones. The students were taught basic compass and navigation skills, fire-building techniques, and the important principles to follow in case they get lost in the wilderness. Thank you to Ferry County Search and Rescue volunteers who assisted in teaching these skills.

On Tuesday, Miss Sage's 3rd-grade class faced the challenge of colder temperatures and rainy conditions as they learned basic outdoor survival skills. The students received instructions from volunteers of Ferry County Search and Rescue on building shelters, how to avoid getting lost, and the Rule of 3 for wilderness survival. After lunch, by the warming fire, the students put their new knowledge to use and built their own wilderness survival camp. During this activity, they learned the importance of teamwork, hard work, and patience.
We would like to express our gratitude to the Ferry County Search and Rescue and parent volunteers who made this outdoor adventure program possible. Without their help, this program would not be possible.
