Caregivers & Parents Survey: COVID-19 Vaccine as a School Requirement

We have just learned this morning that the survey below is scheduled to close on February 2.
About the Survey
The Washington State Board of Health is inviting parents and caregivers of school-age children to complete a survey to provide input that will be shared with a Technical Advisory Group the Board has convened to assess COVID-19 vaccine for inclusion in chapter 246-105 WAC. The TAG will utilize the 9-criteria framework established by the board to assess and evaluate the COVID-19 vaccine for consideration in chapter 246-105 WAC.
The Board is seeking input from parents and caregivers as it relates to Criteria Nine: “The burden of compliance for the vaccine containing this antigen is reasonable for the parent/caregiver.”

The Rabbit bus / Lambert Creek afternoon route will be running 30-35 minutes late, Tuesday January 25.
Please note that there are many changes to the WRESTLING and BASKETBALL schedules this week. Basketball changes are as follows: There is a HOME basketball game on Friday vs. Hunters. Girls Varsity @ 6 pm and Boys Varsity @ 7:30 pm. This will also be Senior Rose night! Saturday the Basketball teams will now travel to Cusick. Boys JV plays @ 10 am; Girls Varsity at 11:30 am and Boys Varsity @ 1 pm.
Wrestling changes are as follows: Girls Wrestling is CANCELLED on Friday (1/28) by the host (but they are currently searching out other venues to hold the meet). Boys Wrestling will now travel to to Northwest Christian on Saturday (1/29) Girls Wrestling will now travel to North Central High School on Wed., February 2nd.

The Republic School District is doing its best to remain open and keep operations as normal as possible. We currently have a severe shortage or bus drivers. Our drivers have done an amazing job all year. Unfortunately, they are not superhuman and occasionally get sick or have important appointments, so there are days where we can't find enough drivers to complete our 5 bus routes. Please understand we have been working on solutions for months, but there isn't always a good answer. If you are interested in training to become a school bus driver please contact the district office at 775-3173. We will train interested individuals ASAP.

High School Sports Update! Please be advised that there will be no spectators allowed at Othello’s Women’s’ wrestling tourney this weekend. Tomorrow’s basketball game in Selkirk is only allowing parents of Senior players to attend. Masks are mandatory in their gym. Men’s wrestling tourney for this weekend has been cancelled by Spokane Sports. We appreciate your patience during these times when the sports schedules are ever changing. Thank you!
Attention Tiger Cub Families! Tiger Cubs has been cancelled tonight and for the remainder of the week. This cancellation will include the half time showcase that was to be played during Saturday's home game. The coaches will reschedule the half time showcase for Tiger Cubs during a future home game.
