K-12 Families, We hope this message finds you well. As we continue to experience the winter season, it's important to ensure that our children are dressed appropriately for the colder temperatures. In particular, warm winter coats are a must-have to keep them safe and comfortable. If you are facing any challenges in providing suitable winter clothing for your child, please know that you can reach out to our Community In Schools team for assistance. Shannon Young and Carrie Dansel are available to help families in need of cold-weather attire, and they can be contacted using the following details: Shannon Young: syoung@repulicsd.org Carrie Dansel: cdansel@republicsd.org 509-77-3327 ext:119 We understand that it can be tough to keep up with the changing weather conditions, but we hope that this information will be helpful to you. Stay warm and safe this winter, and don't hesitate to contact us if you need any support.

Winter ROAR adventures are set to begin next week. As a reminder, please dress your students in winter weather clothing, including insulated boots, gloves, coats, and snow pants, as well as warm socks and hats. In case your students don't have these items, both The ROAR program and The Community In Schools organization have winter clothing available for borrowing on the day of their adventure.

Our last survival skills day on Hall Creek was with Mr. Zakar's 6th Grade class. Despite the rainy and cold weather, students had a great time learning compass navigation skills, basic first aid, and fire building. Most groups were able to start and maintain a fire and build shelters to keep out the rain. The ROAR program would like to express gratitude to Jim Beckwith and Bob Venters from the Ferry County Search and Rescue team and Christina Ralstin and Briana Smith from the Ferry County EMTs for volunteering their time and expertise to the students of Republic Elementary.
