Parents:
Beginning next week, your students in grades 3-8 and 10 will take the Smarter Balanced or the Washington Access to Instruction and Measurement (WA-AIM) tests in math and English language arts. In grades 5, 8, and 11, students will also take the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS) or the WA-AIM science assessment.
The results from these tests are one of many ways of understanding where students are in their learning relative to grade-level learning goals in math, English language arts, and science. For students in grade 10, the Smarter Balanced or WA-AIM tests can also be used as a graduation pathway.
Republic students will take the tests online. Our school is scheduled to take the tests on the following days:

We hope all our staff, students, and families had a wonderful Spring Break! This week we have student/parent/teacher conferences with Thursday being an early release for students at 11:30 and Friday there will be no school for students. Please reach out directly to your school's office if you have any questions regarding your student's conference schedule.

Mrs. Starr's 2nd-grade class continued their learning about soil and erosion with a trip to the Ferry County Conservation District greenhouse. The students learned about the qualities of good soil for planting flowers and experimented with different erosion control methods to prevent their popsicle stick "city" from being washed away by a "rain storm". Afterward, Rochelle Osborne and Naomi Hulse from the Ferry County Weed Board taught the students how to identify certain types of plants using Tootsie Pops. Following lunch in the greenhouse, Bill Chamberlin joined the adventure to share his love of birds as the students walked the conservation district property.

Please remember that Spring Break is next week and that there will be no school 4/1-4/5. The school district office will be open 4/2-4/4. School resumes 4/8 and have a wonderful break!

This will be an all day event for all 7th-12th graders. We are excited to welcome guest speaker Demarco Fomby!

Here are the latest updated Softball and Baseball schedules. Goooo Tigers!

High School Spring Formal is coming up!
Spring Formal will be held on April 13th, at the Ferry County Fairgrounds exhibit hall (upstairs). The ball will be held from 8-11 pm. Cost is $10 per person.

Republic Elementary students had the privilege of visiting Stonerose this week. Students and parents learned about the incredible geological history that occurred millions of years ago in Ferry County. They learned the technique to split the rocks and how scientists use critical thinking skills to identify different fossil remains. Mrs. Sage's 3rd-grade class will end their ROAR adventures in May with a trip to the fossil dig site.

Kindergarten did it again! Hooray for Ms. King's kindergarten class for winning Tiger Pride Friday for two weeks in a row! #CommunitiesInSchools

K-8 Science News! We are grateful to the Curlew School District for hosting an exceptional Science Fair! Our students have achieved outstanding results, and we are immensely proud of them.
Moments like these remind us of the particular community we're a part of here at Republic Schools. The hard work of our students, backed by the incredible support from our teachers and parents, really does make all the difference.
Let's continue to cheer on our young scientists, nurturing their curiosity and watching them soar. #RepublicSchoolsPride #YoungScientists #ScienceFairStars
