The students from Republic Elementary enjoyed an adventure to Stonerose Fossil site to learn about the geologic history of Ferry County through fossil digging. During the trip, they discovered many amazing fossils and also had the opportunity to learn about flint knapping arrowheads, arrow making, and atlatl throwing with the help of volunteers from the United States Forest Service Archeology Department. The ROAR program would like to thank Stuart Chilvers and his team for sharing their knowledge about ancient tool building, as well as to Andy Brockett and Travis Wellman from Stonerose for their assistance in making this day an exciting experience for the students of Republic Elementary.
